Level one -  Pratyhara, these are the gentlest and  most therapeutic poses, releasing unconscious habits.


Level two - Kriya is poses practiced with attention to alignment and balanced muscular action, consciously informed movement.


Level three - Jivanmukti, vinyasa; flowing dynamic sequences. 

The introduction gives intention and direction of practice with specific tools. This practice is about living fully in the body rather than about transcendence. This is the Hatha Tantra perspective. THE TERM "SUBTLE BODY " HAS TWO MEANINGS. 1. FEELINGS AND EMOTIONS 2. THE MOVEMENT OF ENERGY, LITERALLY ELECTRICAL IMPULSES, THROUGH THE BODY: PRANA. THE MODELS OF THE KOSHAS, VAYUS, CHAKRAS AND THE INTERDEPENDENCE OF THE THREE BODIES GIVE US A VOCABULARY TO UNDERSTAND AND ASSIMILATE THE CHANGES IN THOUGHTS, FEELINGS AND EMOTIONS WHICH HATHA  YOGA MAY BRING. SPIRITUAL EXPERIENCE IS AN INTERNAL EVENT. SPIRITUAL PRACTICE IS APPLYING THE EMOTIONS TO THE INTEGRATION OF THE MENTAL AND PHYSICAL BODIES.
